Waxing underarm hair?

I hate armpit hair and I keep shaving but the more I shave the faster and thicker it comes back and the area gets dark. I'll shave and then stubs show up the next day. I've been thinking about waxing, but how long will the results last? And should I do it?

I play sports and wear sleeveless shirts a lot, but I always feel insecure/embarrased to raise my hands up and stuff, please help! No dumb/sarcastic answers please

its great!! waxing hairs remove the hair from the root.. causing it to stop growing...

of course a one time wax job doesnt get every hair by the root! but if you wax them a lot.. like for a year or two.. they'll be so light and few that you wont even look like you have any armpit hair!!
