I own The Sims 2 for the PC. I've downloaded hairstyles and I put them in the Downloads folder on my computer. However, when I go to apply 1 of the downloaded hairstyles, it shows a picture of a normal hair style with straight hair, I clicked on it hoping it was just a glitch with the thumbnail picture, but it applied the same way onto my Sim. Why aren't my hair styles showing up? I ectracted them the right way.

Exactly what the person before said. Anytime you download a new hairstyle that is not based off one already in the game, you have to download the mesh that goes with it. This goes for clothes as well. Wherever you downloaded it, there should have been a link or something of the sort leading you to the mesh you would need to make your new hairstyle work.

You probably didn't download the mesh. If the hairstyle is supposed to look a certain way that is not previously in the game, you have to have a mesh so it will look like it. Go back to the site where you downloaded the hairstyle, and find the mesh (or a link to the mesh), and download that to the same location.
